Built by a driving instructor

Discenda started life at G Force Driving Academy in Exmouth, Devon, where it's used every day to run real lessons with real pupils. It was built to cut the paperwork and the “what time's my lesson again?” texts, so instructors can spend more time teaching and pupils always know where they stand.

Now we're opening it up to other driving schools.

For instructors

  • Your day at a glance. Home shows today's lessons and how many pupils you have. Tap the pupil count to jump straight to your pupil list.
  • A proper diary. A Monday to Sunday week view. Tap a gap to book a lesson, and see each lesson's status at a glance.
  • Alerts that matter. Pupil check-ins, cancellation requests and other updates in one place.
  • Messages. Keep in touch with each pupil in the app and reply to them directly, without handing out your personal number.
  • Pupil records. Contact details, lesson notes, next-lesson plans, lesson credit and practical test details, all kept together for each pupil.
  • Progress tracking. Mark skills lesson by lesson against a DVSA-style syllabus, so you and your pupil can see what's next.
  • Lesson route tracking. Record the route you drove during a lesson, add notes at points along the way, and share the replay with your pupil.
  • Test routes and teaching aids. Save test routes and use Map Sketch to explain junctions and manoeuvres.
  • Calendar sync. Subscribe to your Discenda diary from your phone's calendar app.

For pupils

  • Your lessons. See upcoming lessons in your diary, check in when you arrive, and ask to cancel if you need to.
  • Your progress. A clear, DVSA-style view of the skills you've covered and what you're working on.
  • Look back at your lessons. Replay your lesson route with your instructor's notes, and jot down how the lesson went for you.
  • Messages. Chat with your instructor in the app.
  • Learning resources. Helpful materials from your driving school, plus your school's terms.
  • You're in control. Change your photo and password, or ask for your account to be deleted, right from the app.

How it works

  1. Your school is set up. We create your driving school on Discenda and give you a school code.
  2. Add your pupils. Instructors add pupils and send them their login.
  3. Everyone signs in to the same app. Instructors and pupils download Discenda and sign in with the school code, their email and their password. The app shows each person the right screens for their role.
  4. Teach, track, keep in touch. Lessons, progress and messages stay in sync between instructor and pupil.
